Meet Guide Capt Stephen Boriskie

Captain Stephen’s love for the outdoors started early, spending weekends fishing with his dad on the Galveston jetties and later from the family’s bay boat. From gathering bait to planning trips, those moments instilled in him a deep respect for the water and the excitement of fishing. He carried that passion into adulthood, taking the boat out on his own as soon as he had a driver’s license. That early connection to the coast shaped the foundation of his career as a professional and experienced fishing guide.

With nearly a decade of guiding experience, Stephen developed a sharp understanding of bait fishing, fish behavior, and the balance it takes to consistently put guests on fish. His hands-on knowledge of the tides, back lakes, and shallow flats around Port O’Connor makes him a trusted local fishing guide on the water. What sets him apart is his dedication to sharing the excitement with others, especially kids who bring curiosity and fresh energy to every trip.

Founded in 2013, Mid Coast Outfitters reflects Stephen’s dedication to building lasting memories for anglers and hunters alike. Over the years, he has guided guests to redfish tailing in the shallows, speckled trout chasing bait across the flats, and schools of black drum and sheepshead that keep rods bending. His approach is rooted in patience, local expertise, and a true enjoyment of watching others experience the best of Port O’Connor fishing and hunting.

The Boat

Trips are run aboard a 25’ Carolina Skiff powered by a Suzuki 175 four-stroke outboard, a versatile platform designed for both comfort and reliability. With space for up to six guests, it’s a practical choice for families, friends, or small groups looking to fish together.
